所謂「苦口良藥」,苦字本身雖然是一個負面的字,但我們往往會用它來表達正面的思想。例如:

  • 用心良苦
  • 苦盡甘來
  • 同甘共苦
  • 吃苦耐勞
  • 勞苦功高
  • 皇天不負苦心人

小朋友學會了這些成語,也可以不斷地自我勉勵喔。

苦 /kǔ/ means bitterness, pain or hardship. Although this word can be seen as negative when stands alone, it is often used in idioms that express positive ideas. Some examples are:

  • 苦口良藥 (lit.) good medicine tastes bitter > frank criticism is hard to swallow
  • 用心良苦 to give a lot of thought to something
  • 苦盡甘來 the beginning of good times after long hardship
  • 同甘共苦 to share life’s joys and sorrows; for better or for worse
  • 吃苦耐勞 enduring hardships
  • 勞苦功高 hardships and high credit
  • 皇天不負苦心人 god will not disappoint the person who tries hard
