Chinese Language Game: Spin the language wheel!

Who doesn’t love spinning the wheel? This game will allow your child to build confidence while reciting some recent words that they have learned out loud.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Paper
  • Pen
  • Scissors/cutter
  • board or stick

HOW TO PREPARE

  • Draw a circle and divide it by drawing six perfect lines. It should look like a pizza. You could ask your child to colour it if they want.

  • Now, you will write a total of twelve words. One word per slice. Six of the words should be words that your child is really good at reciting. The six other words should be words that your child sometimes struggles to recite.

  • Cut the outline of the circle and pin it to a board or a stick. 

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Have your child spin the wheel and recite the words. 
  2. Place a sticker on the words recited so that your child can spin the wheel again, if they get the same option while spinning the wheel. 
  3. Alternatively, you can also have your child close their eyes, touch the wheel and recite the world that they touch. 

The six words that your child is already great at reciting should help as confidence boosters, the other six words will serve as a positive learning experience.
