Learning and Mindset Through Meditation

Last week, we spoke about mindset through discovery. This week, we’ll dive in and cover mindset through meditation for children.

Meditation is a special practice that can be introduced to children at a very young age. In fact, the benefits of mindset and meditation can be experienced very early in life. Many parents and teachers choose to introduce meditation to children because of the positive impact it has on their physical health, mental health, and overall well-being.

Children who meditate have better grades in school and tend to be more focused than their peers. It also enhances their ability to focus on the task at hand.

Here are some activities to do with your child to practice mindset through meditation.

Simple breathing exercise

Start with a simple breathing exercise. Children who are new to meditation often find it difficult to stay focused on their breath for long. The easiest way to overcome this challenge is by taking deep breaths and breathing out slowly. You can try this exercise together with your child, and then set a timer so that they have an idea of how much time they need to focus on their breathing before moving on to other activities.

Use a mantra

Use a mantra when meditating with children. A mantra is simply an inspirational word or phrase that helps them stay focused while meditating, like “I am calm” or “I am strong.” If a particular word doesn’t resonate well with your child and seems too complicated when saying it aloud during meditation sessions, use any word at all—it could even be just one syllable! As long as it keeps repeating itself in their heads every time thoughts come up about something else entirely unrelated. This is a great tool to allow them to focus.

The benefits of meditation can be experienced really early in life.

Meditation is not only beneficial for adults, but can also have significant effects on the brain development of children as well.

The techniques used in mindfulness meditation are simple and easy to teach to children as young as 2 or 3 years old. These techniques include focusing on breathing, being aware of your surroundings, and being fully present in the moment with whatever you are doing at that moment.

By introducing these methods at an early age, children will develop these skills, which they will carry with them through their lives as they become adults and experience various situations such as stress or anxiety etc…

Here are some comics that we recommend reading with your child this week.

We hope that you found these tips helpful and that you will come back for future tips.
