Learning and Mindset Through Play & Relatability

Over the next nine weeks, we will share weekly learning tips to help your child build better learning abilities and strengthen their positive mindset.

心態,mindset,已是一個很流行的關鍵詞了。其實,不但成人要關注心態的健康,孩子也同樣會受他們自己的心態影響。今個夏天,從現在起接下來的九個星期,思展圖書將會與你一起來一趟幼童的心態之旅:每個星期,我們會關注一個相關的主題。

Our mindsets are like muscles. They need to be strengthened and stretched to support us daily. The same applies to small children. 

We often think that mindset work must be complicated, but it can be as simple as doing things that help them connect with nature or things that are relaxing in general. 

我們的心態就像肌肉一樣,需要有力量和彈性,才能支撐我們日常的生活作息。小孩子也一樣。

心態修養其實並不複雜。一些簡單的活動,只要能讓孩子放鬆、或讓他們感受到自己和大自然之間的關連,就已經可以很有效。

Here are some simple activities to help your child calm their mind.
比方說以下的幾個活動:
Play with bubbles! 玩泡泡!

Bubbles are fun to chase, but they also allow kids to sit still and think about how they move in the air. This allows children to focus on something positive, be in “the moment” and forget about something else that may have caused them stress.

追逐泡泡對孩子來說太好玩了。但除此之外,孩子也可以安靜地坐下來,思考泡泡在空中移動的各種狀態。這就能讓孩子將精力專注於積極的事物,能做到「活在當刻」,而忘卻本來會帶給他們精神壓力的事。

Watching videos of animals in their natural habitats can help kids feel more connected with the world around them. It also helps them see themselves as part of something bigger than themselves (more aware of their surroundings.)

當孩子觀看動物在自然生態環境的影片時,他們自己也能感到與身處的環境連繫深了。同時,他們會意識到自己生活在一個比自己大得多的世界,能更有意識地探索身處的環境。

Try baking together! 親子入廚!

Baking is a great activity for families—it can help kids learn math skills while also encouraging creativity through play. Anytime we combine fun and learning, it’s a guaranteed better outcome and something that can help relieve stress.

無論是做焙烘或是其他的點心食品,孩子在烹飪過程中能接觸到各種數學知識和運用,還能在這好玩的過程中發揮創意。只要能將學習和玩樂掛勾,就一定能得出好成效,還能有效減壓呢。

The beauty of doing mindset work is that you likely are already doing some form of it with your child, but by being more aware of it and planning it regularly, we create an overall better experience.

其實,做心態修養活動的美妙之處就在於這些本來就是你經常會和孩子一起做的事情,而當你能有意識地去做,再有計劃地將這些活動排得頻密些,就能創出更美好的體驗。
