關於「五」字的故事 ,大家都知道,一字是一橫、二字兩橫、三字三橫。其實「四」字的甲骨文和金文的寫法是三字上面加一橫,即是一共四橫,都很合乎邏輯。
原來,五字的古文寫法是上下各一橫,中間一個「X」。後來慢慢就變成現代的「五」。
有人認為:古人結繩記事,從一到九,五剛好在中間,因此就以「X」以表示是在中央的數字。
亦有人 (漢代的許慎) 認為,五代表了五行(金、木、水、火、土),所以五字上面一橫代表天,下面一橫代表地,而中間的「X」代表了陰陽在天地間交叉。
我們的先人認為世上一切事物都是五行組合而成,就像古希臘認為萬物都離不開四個基本元素 (air, water, earth, fire) 一樣。
「五」字的故事 ,就像其他數字一樣,都是由會意所造的字呢。
「一隻手有五隻手指」- 這句話在基礎漢字500啟蒙級的第一冊就教了。這裏邊有很深的含意,主要因為我們的潛意識受到我們的生體結構影響。「五」字的重要性在我們日常用到的詞彙中表露無遺:
